Underfloor Heating
Underfloor heating (UFH) is becoming increasingly popular, and is one of the best methods of heating when used in conjunction with solar or heat pumps. As the UFH works with water that is heated at a lower temperature than your typical heating systems (approx 50’C instead of approx 60’C), it offers a considerable energy saving.
As well as being more efficient than standard convector heating (radiators), underfloor heating provides a more comfortable and even temperature across a greater area by heating from the floor upwards. Underfloor heating systems also allow excellent control of the temperature in each room by the use of separate ‘zones’.
Underfloor heating also allows you to maximise your living space by removing the need to arrange your room around obtrusive wall-mounted radiators.
There are several different systems on the market. For more information please follow the link to the Osma UFH website – we especially like their unique pocketed insulation.
